Built in Spain and in service since 2001, SEA CLOUD II was designed after the 1931 SEA CLOUD: the same windjammer lines, the same hand-set rig, on a ship with room for about ninety guests.
FCV has chartered her whole for the Travels of Paul between Istanbul and Athens, for Young Life on the Dalmatian coast, and for groups from Florence to Malta. When the ship is ours, the day is ours: swim stops off the gangway, sail sessions where guests can take a line, teaching in the lounge as the ship sails.
Cabins run from compact portholed staterooms on Deck 2 to the two Owner's Suites on Deck 4, with canopy beds and marble baths. Junior Suites and Owner's Suites have decorative fireplaces, borrowed from the original SEA CLOUD.
Sails set by hand
Officers on the open bridge will explain a sail maneuver to anyone who asks. On a good afternoon guests can take a line at the sail session.
Swim stops
Weather allowing, the gangway becomes a swimming platform. Snorkeling gear, floats, a banana boat and water skis come with the ship.
A physician aboard
The ship's physician sails with every FCV charter; on recent voyages consultations were included at no charge.
The day's rhythm
Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with wine and beer, afternoon tea with pastries, late-night snacks. On sea days, brunch on the Lido Deck.
